THIS IS SPACE, NOW.

StarSim : Beyond Space opens a new way to experience the Settled Systems.

Travel a vast physical gate network spanning nearly three hundred handcrafted orbits. Follow routes between worlds. Cross paths with freighters, patrols, passengers, raiders, and ships already on their way somewhere. Explore derelicts, lost cargo, distant signals, and places you never planned to find.

Behind it all, the universe keeps moving.

Stations produce and consume. Goods travel across the network. Factions manage ships, protect their territory, replace their losses, and react to changing conditions. Pirates raid vulnerable systems. Security patrols scan traffic. Battles erupt when opposing forces collide. The economy responds to what survives, what moves, and what does not.

And you are free to move through all of it.

Follow the gates to the next quest.

Change course because something caught your eye.

Go farther than you intended.

Go past the known.

StarSim : Beyond Space

This is space now.

You go.

DOWNLOAD THE FREE STARSIM : BEYOND SPACE PATCH

The STARSIM : BEYOND SPACE Patch is our fast-update channel for hotfixes, bug fixes, navigation improvements, compatibility updates, and other changes that we want to get into players’ hands as quickly as possible.

Updates to the main Creation go through a focused Bethesda certification and QA pass across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. That process takes time for good reason. The Patch lets us release fixes we have tested internally without making players wait for the next main-build certification cycle.

Think of the main Creation as the stable, Bethesda-approved build, and The Patch as the beta / cutting-edge build where the latest fixes and improvements arrive first.

Many of our recent improvements have come directly from community feedback. If you run into an issue or have an idea for how STARSIM : BEYOND SPACE could work better, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: Because The Patch is a free Creation, using it disables achievements while it is active.

StarSim : Beyond Space expands Starfield’s space systems into a full immersive simulation, centered on a gate network that makes space a seamless exploration path throughout the game.

Players can fly the gates to reach quests, handcrafted POIs, and storylines across the Settled Systems, creating a continuous and intuitive journey in which the network itself becomes the backbone of travel and progression.

Handcrafted planetary orbits, reworked space combat—including large-scale battles when the simulation aligns—and a living layer of asteroids, ships, stations, and traffic work together to make entire playthroughs possible through space.

StarSim : Beyond Space also builds on existing Starfield features such as ship stealth, scanners, and dialogue, creating a complementary experience that enriches the base game, gives its stories room to breathe, and makes the Settled Systems feel more alive, connected, and in motion.

STARSIM : BEYOND SPACE FEATURES

STAR SIM : BEYOND SPACE runs a persistent simulation around you. Ships travel independently, following their own routes, jobs, and agendas whether you intervene or not. Stations produce and consume goods, freighters move cargo, passengers, mail, and parcels travel the network, factions patrol and fight, pirates and Starborn raid, and security ships physically scan traffic for contraband.

That simulation is built around a physical jump-gate network connecting nearly 300 handcrafted orbits. Think of the gates as artificial wormholes: fly through one to travel from one star system to the next without using in-game menus. Gates are positioned at the north, south, east, and west edges of each system, forming a connected network. A 2D holographic map above your ship’s navigation console shows the routes and expands as you explore.

Ships can be destroyed and later replaced. Combat, ships, weapons, and ship classes are extensively reworked, including massive capital ships that demand different tactics than ordinary combat. The traffic itself creates opportunities to follow, protect, rob, board, capture, or simply ignore whatever is happening around you.

  • Gate network
Nearly 300 handcrafted orbits connected by physical gates. Fly into a gate to travel. Creates real “in-between” space travel instead of menu skipping. Main story ending rebuilt to use the network.
  • Persistent simulation
Stations produce and consume goods, freighters haul cargo, passengers/mail/parcels move, military and security patrol, pirates and Starborn raid. Activity continues whether you are present or not, turn-based per orbit.
  • Living economy & logistics
Freight has real destinations and value. Interrupting or capturing it creates meaningful opportunities, including boarding, cargo theft, and ship capture.
  • Independent activity
Faction ships can fight each other without you. You can arrive mid-battle, join, or ignore it.
  • Security & contraband
Physical scans only occur when a security ship is present and within roughly 2 km. Security scans all traffic, so busy orbits can help smugglers hide.
  • Ship destruction & replacement
Destroyed faction ships can be replaced and rebuilt by the simulation.
  • Exploration content
Unique anomalies, POIs, derelicts, stations, triggered encounters, asteroid fields that can be used as combat cover, and resource activity. Anomaly scanning awards XP.
  • Network map
A holographic map above the navigation table updates in real time as you explore.
  • Ship & combat overhaul
New and custom ships, modules, and weapons. Distinct A, B, C, and Capital classes with meaningful differences. Capital ships are serious threats that reward positioning, range, and tactics over face-tanking. Carrier hangars launch wings in combat.
  • Enhanced interactions
Heavy use of ship dialogue, piracy options, stealth, and scanners.
  • Compatibility
Shattered Space, with Va’ruun’kai dynamically linked, Watchtower, and cruise mode for seamless menu-free travel.
  • Custom soundtrack
9 new tracks tied to key locations.
